Description | Adenylosuccinic acid (Adenylosuccinate) is a purine nucleotide cycle metabolite and a novel inducer of the Nrf2 cell protector. It can be used for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). |
In vivo | Adenylosuccinic acid (oral administration; 3-3000 µg/mL; 6 weeks) significantly alleviated the pathologic features of DMD (Duchenne muscular dystrophy) in mice. Its effects were demonstrated by a reduction in the proportion of central nuclear fibers in the mdx tibialis anterior muscle, a reduction in lipid accumulation, an inhibition of connective tissue infiltration, and a reduction in Ca2+ content.
